Can I write you a poem?

Can I bleed your name in cursive,

with a millimeter point

dancing the page with permanence?

Can my heart sink into the paper

and swell into another,

as the vowels bloat with devotion?

Can I describe your scent

as a sylvan, patchouli memory,

with hints of early Colorado air?

Can I write you another poem-

wet, warm, with honey?

Can I hide your name behind curtains

of more intimate imagery?
