So much powerful Art came from my experience with you

I don’t know if you think about life like this.

I don’t know if you think about me at all.

But my heart hears the earth whisper your name every single day.

I see you in the details sometimes.

You changed the way I think about Love.

You changed the way I view my art.

How I view myself.

You taught me how to give myself grace.

You taught me how to validate myself.

Old versions of me have died so many times but your imprint has always stayed with me.

I give you value for all the right reasons now.

I could hope that you’d see the same thing,

But hope is a poor man’s paycheck.

When I see your name I am not reminded of the emptiness in your heart,

I’m reminded to be careful with the overflow of mine.
